Studio Internships
Get real hours in a professional recording environment. Intern in the campus studios at the Center for Recording Arts & Technology, or let us help place you in an external internship with a local studio, venue, or media company.
Work alongside faculty and student engineers in Building 84 — sessions, maintenance, and studio operations on the SSL and our Pro Tools HDX rigs. Scheduled around your availability, Monday through Friday.
Prefer to get off campus? External internships with studios, venues, and media companies are coordinated by Julie Swanson, Work Experience Education Coordinator — email [email protected] to get started.
How to sign up
1. Enroll in the 290 course
Internships run through a 290 cooperative work experience course. RA&T majors enroll in RA&T 290; FTMA majors enroll in FTMA 290. The internship is capped at 20 students per semester, so enroll as soon as registration opens.
2. Come to the intern meeting
There is a mandatory intern info meeting at the start of each semester. Everyone enrolled in 290 gets the date and room by email. Can't make it? Email [email protected] to schedule a meeting.
Recommended background: enrollment in 121, or having completed 120. Not there yet? Email [email protected] and we'll point you at the right first class.
